Fabulous last day of Christmas

This was my first Christmas time away of home and I really hoped it will work out for every member of my family .There is a magic in the air at this time of the year in Prague .Quality music ,fancy restaurants and entertainment ooze out from literally everywhere . A late-baroque CAFÉ MOZART - the only café in Prague overlooking the Astronomical clock .It is located in a historical building from late 1800s ,the owner was obviously a clock collector ,so everywhere on the walls one can see antique clocks in addition to the amazing view of the Astronomical clock .The dinner was 5 course -very delicious and elegantly decorated. The atmosphere at the Cafe was fantastic, stylish and cozy .A real treat was the music of Mozart ,Dvořák ,Bach ,Corelli and Handel ,performed by a wonderful string quartet .They played in a perfect synchrony .A great night walk around the small cobble-stoned streets of Old town of Prague concluded this fabulous night.

An Angelic Evening on Christmas Eve

I have been to Prague on six occasions and always at Christmas.Prague in my opinion sparkles during that time of year and I can't think of another place I would rather be. Prague has an elegance about it and Cafe Mozart is part of the elegance.

My first impression when I entered the Hotel was that I was transferred back to a eloquent time where presentation factored into the success of any business. Grand Hotel Praha knows of this presentation and they pair it with an enchanting experience with their Cafe Mozart The time period for the decor of the dining area is outstanding. It whisks you away to the period of the musical masters and prepares you for a truly delightful dinner experience that follows every rule of presentation and one that is executed flawlessly. I cannot find fault to any part of that dining experience. My server ;Sasha, can be best described as an absolute Angel on Christmas Eve. All dinners are marked for quality, service and presentation and Sasha is a guiding light for impeccable service and I was honored to have her as my server...Thank you Sasha. I strongly recommend the Cafe Mozart for outstanding food quality, a beautiful presentation and especially for remarkable people who are fortunate enough to be part of Cafe Mozart and the Grand Hotel Praha.

Fantastic Evening and Wonderful Staff

I booked dinner with the string quartet as a surprise for my mother’s birthday who was traveling with her friend. Both had a wonderful evening overlooking the clock and Christmas market. The hotel were also fantastic and provided a complimentary cake for her birthday. Highly recommended.

Good food

We ate here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. The breakfast buffet was an excellent value for the price. The dinner was good but a bit pricey. However, if you want to see the astronomical clock working, you have an excellent view from the 2nd floor restaurant.

GEM!

When one steps into the main square in Prague by the astrological clock, the one thing that hits you are the crowds! A wonderful experience indeed BUT then should you be clever to avoid it, climb up the first floor to this cafe which is RIGHT across the clock. We found a table right by the window and had a view of the clock, the crowds, yet we were surrounded by a classical interior, wood panels, beautiful clocks everywhere and of course we were served great coffee and cakes to die for. What a great escape, albeit for an hour, relaxing in this amazing place... try it!

Top location to eat and watch the Astronomical Clock "show"

We had stood with the crowds below watching the astronomical clock show. Later, at lunchtime we decided to go upstairs to the chandelier dripping, antique clock displaying, luxurious dining room looking straight out at the clock, almost nose to nose! We enjoyed a light lunch, including mouth watering desserts from the display case, while almost alone observing the clock come to life on the hour with the march of the disciples while crowds hovered below straining their necks to get a good video of the action .

My FAVORITE restaurant in Prague and one of the best in Europe!!!

Wow - can't believe there are not more 5 star reviews of this place!! We had lunch on a weekday (watched the Noon astronomical clock show from our table - so cool!!) and had the place almost to ourselves, we couldn't believe it. Maybe because had such early lunch - 11:45am. What makes this place perfect for me - is the decor, just the style I like and super luxurious!! The location is great, food fantastic, great service, prices reasonable for this type of place, just a fantastic experience - would visit many, many times over!!!! BEST in Prague and now one of my top fav's in Europe!!!!!

Light Jazz and good service

We ate a three course meal with a light jazz concert that was packed with standards and classics. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would recommend Cafe Mozart on a jazz concert night. The food was good, the service excellent and the pianist and saxophonist made our evening.

Lovely fancy decoration, nice staff, there was even a pianist playing for a short time. Delicious apricot ice cream with view to the astronomic clock. Like travelling in time :D

Hidden Gem !

Don't stand in the Old Town Square with the crowds waiting for the Astronomical Clock to function. Come to the 2nd floor comfortable Cafe Mozart. The Cafe offers coffee, delicious pastries and other light items. We had two delicious Cesar salads, cold beer and coffee. The beautiful restoration enhances your visit. Great service! This is the location to view the clock chime in comfort.

Watch the famous Astronomical Clock in comfort

Second floor cafe with dainty tidbits and good coffee provides a wonderful vantage point from which to view the clock.

The Place to go in Old Town for a Light Meal and Coffee

After tourning Old Town for a while , you´ll want to get off your feet and have some coffee and their delicious pastries.  We LOVE this place . In fact , we visited it twice during our 3-day stay in Prague. The ambiance and pastries can´t be beat!  It´s  directly opposite the Astronomical Clock , so if you´re waiting for the time to hit an "hour" , this is a great place  to waite and have some refreshment.

Best place to see the iconic clock

Above the crowds a seat in the Cafe Mozart with an open window on the old town square is the place to see the clock chime. The cappuccino and sacher torte are an added bonus.

An exceptional experience

We stayed five days in Prague and every day we went to eat something and to drink coffee with very very good cakes at the GRAND CAFE MOZART. We didn´t find better in Prague. The place is very attractive on the first floor with a very beautiful view at 20 metres from the astronomical clock on the market place in the heart center of Prague. Food was fresh, very good and enough for reasonnable prices compared  to many other places in Prague. The same thing for the friendly warm service we have enjoyed from the waiters, especially from ANETA & ILONA who did all their best to satisfiy everybody . Next time we will return back to the Grand Cafe Mozart whre we certainly will stay next time in their HOTEL at the same place.

Fine food, Beautiful Atmosphere , Perfect view

Café Mozart not only has excellent pastries, soups, and other dishes ,  but it affords  the viewer a perfect view of the Astronomical Clock.  It is filled with beautiful antiques  and has superb service.  This is a great find  in Prague.

A fabulous evening

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant primarily due to the central and romantic location on Old Town Square.  There was live music which was a nice bonus, and we decided to try the special concert menu. We were not disappointed . The atmosphere and service was  first class, as was the food.  I can particularly recommend  the veal rib eye steak , which I thoroughly enjoyed. Prices are somewhat  higher than other restaurants , but you are paying for the location and quality. All in all highly recommended.

Classy romantic Valentine’s day dinner

We booked this without looking at the restaurant, our meal was accompanied by live jazz music which created lovely atmosphere; incredible food especially for the carnivores out there, vegetarian food also delish, was so full by the end of the night lol, service was amazing ! our waitress was lovely and friendly, everyone spoke english, we were by far the youngest people there but the staff were very welcoming, also given a rose and heart shaped biscuits to take away, 10/10 would recommend

Comfortable Haven

An absolute gem near the Astrological Clock that is such a tourist attraction . The Café Mozart offers an eye level view of the Clock. The surroundings are elegant with ornate clocks, impeccable napiery and Meissen in the  cabinets.  Food excellent.  Enjoyed coffee and indulged chocolate cake.
